Amy Queen Portraits

As a result of being around her mother's oil paintings, Amy had an early interest in the medium. She attended David Lipscomb University to study and received her Art degree there in 1997. At Lipscomb, she studied under the recently acclaimed National Portrait Society winner, Dawn Whitelaw, who still remains a good friend and mentor. During college and after, Amy studied with Anne Templeton, a renowned colorist from New Mexico, who teaches 10 - 15 workshops a year. Anne helped Amy develop her skills for using vibrating and vibrant colors.

Amy has been a guest artist at the Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction in Bellevue, Colorado. She received a grant to attend the Vermont Studio Center for one month in 2002 and is a member of the Portrait Society of America.

Showing recently in Solo Gallery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and The Gallery of Franklin in Nashville, Tennessee. Amy has participated in several one artist shows and joint exhibitions. She is in the collections of homes in Taiman, England, Italy and Switzerland and has recently painted a portrait for The Statesville Christian School in Statesville, North Carolina.
